Blue Note Music

Here you will find some of the more interesting instruments we currently have to offer. While we carry many entry-level and beginner instruments, the ones listed here deserve special consideration due to their uniqueness or value.

Cornet

Conn 8A Victor Long Cornet

The Conn 8A Victor cornet is longer than your average cornet, featuring a slender and slightly narrower bell. With a serial number dating it to 1926 production, this horn is easy  blowing and has a slightly smaller bore that takes a short shank cornet mouthpiece as opposed to the "Bach-style" long shank cornet mouthpiece.  Note the trim streamlines, the third slide finger ring for proper pitch adjustment and the lack of dents and dings on this incredibly well-maintained and vintage instrument.

Sale Price: $425.00

Trombone

Holton Superbone

The Holton Superbone is an iconic instrument made famous by Maynard Ferguson, featuring both a standard trombone slide and a set of three piston valves.  The valves and slide can be used independently of each other, or in conjunction.  This instrument was made in 1973 and is in immaculate original condition.  The valves and slide all move fast and easy, and have good compression.  There are no dents or dings, and while the lacquer has aged gracefully, there are no worn spots.

Folk Instrument

Handmade Traditional Tagaharpa

This traditional Northern European bowed lyre is known most for its haunting, drone-heavy and primal sound often found in Viking-era reenactments and Nordic folk bands. This handmade instrument features a natural wood finish and a horse-hair bow.

Folk Instrument

Handmade Traditional Moraharpa

The Moraharpa is a modern version of its predecessor, the nyckelharpa. Meaning "keyed fiddle", these instruments originate from Sweden and are considered to be the quintessential national instrument of the country. This particular Moraharpa features key-activated tangents along the neck that change pitch during play.  You'll also notice the beautiful blue stain and hand carved sound holes.

Sale Price: $850.00

Guitar

Cozart Double Neck Left-handed Guitar

The only one of these we've seen in person, this is not only a 12 string/6 string electric guitar, but it's also left-handed.  Don't let that stop you if you're a righty, though. At this price, you could buy this, have it converted to right-handed, and still pay less than most other double-necks.  Despite being relatively inexpensive, this guitar plays great and gives your stage presence the aura it needs.
